Prishtina 16 March, 2011 – Today in the regular meeting of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo the European Partnership Action Plan 2011 (EPAP) was approved. The EPAP was prepared by staff of the Ministry of European Integration in full cooperation with the relevant state institutions.

The European Partnership Action Plan 2011 (EPAP) is the key instrument of the Government with regard to European integration. EPAP is the basic document which guides legal, institutional and economic reforms in Kosovo for the year 2011.

Addressing the Progress Report 2010 recommendations was one of the guiding principles in preparing the EPAP 2011. Bearing in mind the new momentum in the European integration process and the commitment of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo to the European agenda, the EPAP 2011 represents a fundamental quantitative and qualitative change.

The process of preparing the EPAP 2011 started in November 2010. This document was finalized within a five (5) month period. In comparison with previous years, the EPAP 2011 was prepared three (3) months more quickly than last year. This means there has been a dramatic improvement in the administrative capacities of the Government in implementing the European agenda.

EPAP 2011 covers over 30 different fields of governance, comprising 400 activities, of which the majority will be implemented in 2011. Over 1,000 domestic experts from all the state institutions of the Republic of Kosovo were involved in the process of preparing the EPAP. The EPAP is a realistic document, which is budgeted and implementable.

During 2011, the Ministry of European Integration will coordinate rigorous monitoring of the implementation by state institutions of all obligations deriving from the EPAP.
